MAKING MICHIGAN RENTAL RESERVATIONS: Michigan Rental Reservations may be made in person, by mail, or by calling our toll-free number: 1-800-968-5115. Properties are filled quickly, so we suggest you make reservations early!

When calling for Charlevoix rental reservations, it will be helpful to have the following information ready: Your preferred date of arrival and length of stay, the number of adults and children, and the property you prefer to rent. Please try to have a second choice ready in case your first selection is unavailable. Our rental staff will be pleased to assist you with your selection.

RENTAL PAYMENT: Once you reserve a rental unit, we will send you a rental agreement and confirmation. The signed agreement must be received in our office within ten (10) days of the confirmation date along with your advance deposit. In fairness to our owners, we cannot hold your reservation beyond the 10 day period. Without the advance deposit, your reservation will be cancelled, and the property will be made available for rental.

The balance of your rent, along with applicable taxes, will be due prior to your arrival date by personal check as stated in the confirmation agreement. Michigan sales tax is 6%.

CHECK-IN TIME is 4:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival. We cannot accommodate early check-ins because of our cleaning and inspection schedules. If you will be arriving after office hours, please notify us so that we can make arrangements for your keys and directions.

CHECK-OUT TIME is 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure. We must strictly adhere to the check-out time so that we may clean and inspect each until between tenants. Keys may be left on the kitchen counter. If you are leaving earlier than planned, please notify the office so that we may secure the property.

A CANCELLATION FEE will be retained if you cancel your reservation. Every effort will be made to re-rent the property, but if it is not re-rented, your advance deposit will be forfeited. If re-rented, your advance deposit will be returned to you less a $250.00 cancellation fee to cover our expenses.

TENANTS RESPONSIBILITIES include respecting owner's property and treating it as your own. Excepts for 'normal war and tear' all tenants agree to reimburse the owner for repairs or replacement necessary from damages during their tenancy, including any reasonable attorney fees if applicable. At check-out, tenants are expected to place all dishes in the dishwasher and start the dishwasher, leave trash in trash bags, and remove all personal items.

ITEMS LEFT at your rental unit are not the responsibility of VACATION PROPERTIES RENTAL. Please be sure to double check your unit prior to departure. If we are asked to return personal items to you, there will be a $25.00 service charge in addition to C.O.D. costs.

Telephones are available and may be used free of charge for local calls only. Most owners have installed long distance restrictions on their telephones. To make a long distance call with or without the restriction, tenants must use a calling card, credit card, or must call collect. If the above requirement is violated and long distance charges are incurred during your stay, you will be billed a $25.00 service charge in addition to the long distance charges. 911 EMERGENCY service is in place in Charlevoix and Antrim Counties should you have any problems during your stay!

REFUNDS WILL NOT BE MADE on lodging due to unfavorable weather, maintenance problems, disruption of utility service, or early departure in an emergency. Every effort is made to keep each property and its equipment in good working order. Notify the office of any difficulty during your stay so that we can quickly dispatch the proper service personnel. We reserve the right to inspect the property and make such repairs as deemed necessary.

LOCKED CLOSETS are maintained by the owners for their personal use. Please respect these locked areas.

ABSOLUTELY NO PETS are allowed in any unit designated "NO PETS". Violation of this regulation is grounds for immediate eviction without refund. Pet owners are liable for any damages.

VACATION PROPERTIES RENTAL has made every effort to insure that the information in this publication is correct. However, we will not be responsible for any errors or changes made by owners in furnishings or equipment.

AGAIN -- please remember that you are renting someone's home. Please treat it as you would with then to treat yours.
